-District 5 FFA Agriscience Fair will be held on Tuesday, March 14th at Rend Lake College.  Registration forms were provided in your winter section meeting folder.  Student registration forms are due by March 3rd in order to plan for the meal, prize money, and awards.  A $2 fee will be charged per student.  Attached is a summary of agriscience fair project titles.

The National Conference of the Postsecondary Agriculture Student(PAS) Organization will be held in St. Louis on March 15-18 at the Millennium Hotel in downtown St. Louis.  Check out the information and schedule at -   Conference organizers are in need of 80 judges for the various competitions on Thursday morning, March 16th and Friday morning, March 17th.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all judges.  Below are the areas of competition.  If you are interested, please let me know at [email protected]   High School ag. teachers, FFA Alumni members, parents, and agriculture industry/agency leaders are encouraged to judge.  Industry career exhibits are also needed.

-Vacancy at the Shawnee High School - The Shawnee High School is located in Union County of Section 24 near Wolf Lake on Highway 3 just minutes away from Carbondale and Cape Girardeau, MO.  Approximately 55 students are taking agriculture courses in the high school of 130 total students.  A diverse curriculum is taught - ag. science, ag. mechanics, agribusiness, and horticulture.  $32,374 to $61,042 Annual Salary, 200 day Contract, Paid Sick, Personal, and Bereavement Leave, Partially Paid Health Insurance.  It is the school's intention to fill the position as soon as possible.   Applicants should submit a letter of interest, resume, copy of college transcripts, copy of teaching certification, and three letters of reference to:
