Position   Heavy Equipment Technology Instructor
Description   Rend Lake College is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technology instructor to help develop a new Heavy Equipment Technology
program. This individual will oversee the development of the curriculum, the recruitment of students and the interaction with industry representatives, as well as serve as the instructor in the program. Full-time, tenure-track position. Bachelor's Degree in Science preferred, Associate Degree required in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment or Mechanics-related field. Five years of occupational experience required in Diesel or Heavy Equipment Technology. Salary commensurate with education and experience. Free tuition for employee, spouse and dependents.

Nine schools participated – Cisne, Cobden, Egyptian, Freeburg, Hamilton County, Mt. Vernon, Pinckneyville, Thompsonville, and Wayne City with 57 projects and 96 students.

Individual category winners-

-Animal Science – Ethan Keyser, Cisne

-Horticulture – Devin Carroll, Zack Dickerson, Tabitha Huck - Freeburg and Kyle Ragan, Ryan Griffith - Hamilton County

-Food Science – Ashlee Lambrich, Cisne

-AgriMarketing – Natalie Mugrage, Cisne

Students were evaluated with A, B, and C ratings.  Each project received a $6 cash award and each student received a framed certificate. The top 3 projects received $55, $45, and $35.  This event was hosted and sponsored by Rend Lake College – Applied Science Division.  The facilities and $500 in cash prizes were contributed by Rend Lake College.  A special “thank you” to Sarah Bond and her staff at RLC for hosting this event.  Judges for this event were area agribusiness leaders and area Ag in the Classroom county coordinators.  Assistance was also provided by:  Ashley Hanold, State FFA Treasurer, and the District 5 FFA Section Presidents, Jessy Huelsmann, Meghan Keyser, Blain Milam, and David Yandell along with section officers Casey Braddock and Erin Salger.  The District 5 FCAE office organizes the event each year.

-National Postsecondary Agriculture Student Conference in St. Louis - Thank you to the many agribusiness and educational leaders that judged various events on Thursday and Friday.  Nearly 700 students attended the event.  For more information, view their website at -
