School Officials Workshop/Luncheon - June 14, 2007

The 5th Annual Illinois Agricultural Education/FFA School Officials Workshop and Luncheon will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2007, in conjunction with the Illinois FFA Convention at the Prairie Capital Convention Center (PCCC), Downtown Springfield, Room B6 – Lower Level.

Use this event to your advantage to encourage your school officials to attend the Illinois FFA Convention!

Attached is the promotional flyer, agenda, and registration form.  Please forward and/or copy for your administration, guidance counselors, school board members, and any industry representatives in your communities.   $50 stipend will be paid to each school attending to cover mileage and related expenses.  Noon meal for all participants is also paid. 


8:30 – 9 a.m. – Registration in the lower level of the Prairie Capital Convention Center (PCCC) with refreshments

9:30 a.m. Welcome and Introductions

9:40 – 10:50 a.m. – Agricultural Education/FFA Workshop
-Presentation on curriculum, kits, testbank, and teacher tools.
-Questions from the audience. Key Q’s to be answered—Benefits to students, to administrators, to school, to community; costs, etc.  
10:50 – 11:40 a.m. – Educator Panel – Benefits and Advantages of an Agriscience/FFA Program for our School District. (Representatives from Mattoon High School and Marshall High School.)                                                       
11:40 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Luncheon – Invocation
Guest Speaker – Amy Martin Gregory State FFA Secretary-Treasurer 1989-90, Currently - Bayer Pharmaceuticals                                                     
12:30 p.m. – Move to the main stage area of the PCCC. Special seating for workshop participants.                                 
1 – 3 p.m. – Final Session of the 76th Annual Illinois FFA Convention               
3 p.m. – Homeward bound
