4th Annual Agriculture Industry Day
Friday, April 18, 2008
9:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m.
at University Farms-599 Rowden Rd.
Southern Illinois University Carbondale
Agriculture Teachers and Students, you’re invited to a free fun-filled day showcasing the agriculture industry and the
unlimited opportunities available! We celebrate agriculture and people who dedicate their life to building the future of agriculture for generations to come. Spend the day with us and see how agriculture fits into your future with the College of Agricultural Sciences!
The morning will start with a livestock, equine, and dairy judging contest for FFA Chapters and 4-H at 8:00 a.m. Exhibits will be open at 9:00 am and will continue to be open during the afternoon sessions. Our exhibitors are representatives of the agriculture industry and our College. Dean Minish will give a welcome at 10:30 and then we’ll move onto our outstanding speakers: Jenna Wicks past Illinois FFA Officer; Lucas Maxwell, graduate of SIUC, former Agriculture Teacher, and Ph.D. Student at University of Florida; Orion Samuelson, #1 Farm Broadcaster in the country; and U.S. Senator Dick Durbin.

-Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, Southern Illinois Agri-tourism At Its Finest-The Business of Viticulture and Enology: Learn the history behind the Southern Illinois wine trail and the work that goes into viticulture and winemaking.
