-District 5 FFA Agriscience Fair Results
-SIUC College of Agricultural Sciences Scholarships

District 5 FFA Agriscience Fair Results…The agriscience fair was held on Monday, March 11th at Rend Lake College. 47 projects were displayed by 58 students from 9 FFA Chapters. 1st place($75) – Jennifer Jones, Wesclin, "nd place($"-) – Dan Beisiegel, Freeburg, 3rd place($35) – Tim Barton and Blake Clayton, Eldorado. Chapters participating: Clay City, Freeburg, McLeansboro, Wesclin, Flora, Egyptian, Cisne, Mt. Vernon, and Eldorado. A and B rated projects received $9 cash. All students received a framed certificate. Thank you to these judges: Barb Lewis - Jefferson County SWCD, Mike Crisel – Franklin County University of Illinois Extension, Lawrence Huseman – Former Trico High School Ag. Teacher, Carrol Rodgers – University of Illinois Extension, and Luke Maxwell – SIUC Collegiate FFA. A big thank you to Ed Billingsley and his staff at Rend Lake College for providing the $5-- cash prizes, lunch for all participants, and the facilities. Frames and certificates were provided by Dean Dittmar, Facilitating Coordination in Agricultural Education.

SIUC College of Agricultural Sciences Scholarships - The Heritage Scholarship Program (HSP) is an award program available to College of Agricultural Sciences (COAS) students for the "--"--3 academic year. Through this program, we are able to award approximately $85,--- from a total of 8- scholarship awards. Minimum qualifications for consideration are an ACT score of "4 or higher, a transfer GPA of ".75 or higher, or a cumulative SIUC GPA of ".75. For any questions, contact Sarah Helmers.
