Fundraising Opportunity - Truck/Tractor Pull

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

Opportunity for fundraiser for your FFA chapter, and a good way to end National FFA Week...

The Southern Illinois Shootout will be held on February 26-27 and March 5-6, at the Southern Illinois Center in DuQuoin, IL.  This is a four-day truck and tractor pulling event, spread over two weekends.  This event is put on by Whatssmokin Promotions, who also puts on the tractor pull at Gordyville every January, for those who have heard of it.  There are four sessions each weekend, Friday afternoon, Friday night, Saturday afternoon, and Saturday night.  This could be a great way to end FFA Week for your chapter, and is a cheaper alternative to attending the National Farm Machinery Show.
My family has been involved with pulling since the 1960's, and Klint Tucker, the person in charge, has asked me to help involve FFA chapters with the tractor and truck pulls.  Tickets to each session cost $18 at the door, and Klint is offering to donate $4 per ticket sold, back to any FFA chapter who would like to sell tickets.
If you would like to sell tickets, please let me know, and I will get them in your hands as soon as possible.  I have attached a poster advertising the event, which has a list of classes for each session.

If you have any questions, please let me know.  Thanks!
