-REM"NDER for Agriculture "eachers – Please be sure to return your FCAE
course and student data sheets to your FCAE Field Advisor prior to January
31st. We need this information for the database to prepopulate for the FY04
"ncentive Funding Application.

-REM"NDER for members of the District 5 FCAE/S"UC Agricultural Education
Advisory Council – Spring Council meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March
19th at Rend Lake College, 6 pm – eat and 6:45 pm – meeting in room 215 of
the Academic Building.

-District 5 FFA Alumni Meeting and Workshop is also scheduled for Wednesday,
March 19th at Rend Lake College, 6 pm – meal and 6:45 pm meeting. More

"he two courses that career and technical and special education teachers
need to have to attain proper certification to teach high school cooperative
education classes will be offered at Edwardsville High School this summer.
"llinois State University will offer the courses off-site during the weeks
of June 16 and June 23, 2003. Dr. Margaret Erthal, formerly from S"UE and
now teaching at "SU, will be the instructor. "he classes will meet Monday
through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Lunch will be on your own.

"he courses to be offered are:
B"E 380 - Organization and Administration of Vocational Cooperative
Education Programs (3 semester hours): Planning and organizing a cooperative
program; emphasis on recruitment, selection of training stations, student
placement, and operation of the cooperative plan. June 16-20, 2003.

B"E 382 - Coordination "echniques of Cooperative Vocational Education
Programs (3 semester hours): Coordination techniques needed for high school
and post-secondary teacher coordinators in integrating classroom activities
with daily employment. June 23-27, 2003.

"eachers will need to purchase "he Handbook for Cooperative Education and
Registered Apprenticeships, which is available from the Curriculum
Publications Clearinghouse, publication #116 for $20.00. "he book may be

"he approximate combined cost for these two classes is $960.00 plus a
one-time admission fee of $30 for students who have never been an "SU
graduate student. Dr. Erthal will collect fees and distribute course
information at the first class on June 16.
