American FFA Degree

"Intent to Apply" forms for the American FFA Degree should be submitted to the Illinois FFA Center by Janauary 15.  Failure to meet this deadline does not eliminate an applicant from consideration, but we do ask that candidates for the degree submit an "Intent to Apply" form even if it is after January 15.

An American FFA Degree Workshop will be held on Saturday Janaury 28 at the Illinois FFA Center, Springfield starting at 10:00 a.m.

The deadline for American FFA Degree applications is March 1.

The American FFA Degree application remains the same one used for the last several years.

American FFA Degree candidates must be an active member of your chapter and must be on your chapter roster.

Remember American FFA Degree applicants must have a minimum of 50 hours of community service in order to qualify for the degree.

Questions concerning the American FFA Degree should be directed to Associate Executive Secretary Frank Dry who coordinates the American FFA Degree application process.

Foundation Collection Drive

All transmittal sheets and money for the 2010 Foundation collection drive must be in the Illinois FFA Center by February 1 in order to be included in the 2010 collection drive totals.  If you have not already done so, please get your local collection drive for the Foundation wrapped up and everything sent in as soon as possible.  Thank you to all who have already sent in their transmittal sheets and money.  With everyone's help we can reach our state goal this year.

The Illinois Foundation FFA administers several scholarships available to Illinois FFA members.  They include the Sam Taylor Memorial Scholarship, the Sam Taylor Agriculture Education Scholarship, the Alliance Pipeline Scholarships, the Henry County Scholarship, the GROWMARK Scholarships, and the Sibley Scholarship.  Information and applications forms for all the scholarships can be found on the Illinois FFA website in the downloads section.  The deadline for application for all the scholarships is March 1.  Please note each scholarship has different qualifications and requirements for applicants.  For example the GROWMARK Scholarships are for students who will be attending a community college yet we had several who applied last year that were going to attend a four-year university or college and were not eligible for the scholarship .  Questions about the scholarships should be directed to Associate Executive Secretary Frank Dry at the Illinois FFA Center.

Safety and Community Development Grants

Alliance Pipeline provides funding through the Illinois Foundation FFA for $500 Safety and Community Development Grants.  We have received several grant applications and those checks have been sent to chapters who applied for funding.  Funds are still available for chapters who could use $500 to help fund a safety or community development project in their community.  Funds will be available on a first come - first serve basis until all funds are expended.  The application form is available on the Illinois FFA website in the downloads section.
