-One of the premier agricultural events in the Midwest is returning to its roots. The DuQuoin State Fair has ended its association with Farm Progress Cos. and will sponsor a new and improved AgriLand Expo in 2003. All of the equipment and commercial displays relating to agriculture will be brought back inside the gates of the fairgrounds. This will make a one-stop educational and entertainment opportunity for all fairgoers. By producing the show in-house the State of Illinois will save several thousands of dollars. The DuQuoin State Fair is scheduled for August 23rd – September 1st, 2003.

-The National FFA Organization has introduced a new line of marketing and recruiting materials called “Opening Doors” for FFA Chapters to promote the benefits of this great organization. Sample letters, brochures, and PowerPoint presentations are now available. These new materials are available as free downloads at: I would highly recommend that you view these items and begin using them at your school to recruit new members and build strong partnerships in your community. All FFA Advisors were sent a packet of these new promotional materials including classroom posters in late February and early March.
