STEM SAE Initiative - Opportunity on March 13

Tuesday, February 26, 2013

-Sent to District 5 Ag Teachers.

Thank you to the 33 schools and teachers from District 5 that applied for the STEM SAE grant.  The grants will be reviewed on Wednesday with notification to schools soon after this date.  I appreciate your hard work and efforts.
This AFNR STEM(Race to the Top) grant will be available for 3 years, so for those schools that did not have any or very few students with an SAE in 2012, the grant intent is to improve and increase the number of students with SAEs in 2013, 2014, and beyond.
Now though is the time to start your students with a SAE project so that you can take advantage of the grant next year at this time.
For those ag teachers that did not have any section SAE winners and/or have never attended a district SAE competition, then this upcoming opportunity to learn about SAEs and record keeping is for you!
Volunteer to be a judge for the District 5 FFA Proficiency Award Judging on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, 5 pm registration and 5:30 pm start in the cafeteria of the Benton High School.  Take advantage of learning from your peers at this event.  Email me if you are interested with your area of interest from the attached listing of FFA/SAE proficiency award areas, and I will contact Bill Kittinger to assign you to a judging committee.
SAE lessons are availabe at  and utilize ITCS SAE resources in your classroom now.
