1. Titan Tire Illinois and Indiana FFA Foundation Auction

Titan Tire will again be sponsoring the FFA Titan Tire Auction at the 2013 Farm Progress Show in Decatur with proceeds from the auction going to the Illinois and Indiana FFA Foundations to support FFA in each state.

The auction will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 27th and Wednesday August 28th, 2013 on Lot 1233.  Lot 1233 is located at the corner of Central Progress and 11th Street.
The auction will include a wide range of tires plus seed corn, crop chemicals, and miscellaneous items donated by exhibitors at the Farm Progress Show. Tires will include everything from golf cart and ATV tires, skid steer ties, wagon tires, and tractor and combine tires in a variety of sizes. The same number and sizes of tires will be offered both days of the auction.
A complete list of tires available for the auction is posted on the Illinois FFA website and Central Illinois Auctions’ website A list is also attached to this note.  A list of items offered for auction will be available for people to pick up at the FFA display on Tuesday and Wednesday prior to the auction. Prospective bidders can register for the auction and pick up a bidder number in the FFA and Agricultural Education tent prior to the auction on Tuesday and Wednesday. Cash, check or credit card will be accepted as payment at the auction.
Everyone is encouraged to come to the auction and help support the FFA.  FFA members and chapters who are present either day are encouraged to come to the auction.  This usually helps increase the bidding because buyers know their purchases go to support FFA.
2. State Farm Seat Belt Convincer
State Farm has something exciting and educational planned at The National Farm Progress Show® held August 27-29, in Decatur, Illinois.  We will be hosting the Seat Belt Convincer and wanted to take this opportunity to extend an invitation for your chapter to join us at this event.

Teen Driver Safety is a priority at State Farm.  The Seat Belt Convincer is an educational tool designed to demonstrate the effectiveness of seat belts during a low-speed crash.  In conjunction with the Illinois State Police, we will allow riders aged 15 and older to participate in the simulation.  Due to the limited amount of time available for demonstrations at the show, we regret that not all chapter members will be able to experience ‘The Convincer’.

Chapter members, aged 15-17, interested in participating in the simulation should bring the original waiver attached, signed by a parent or legal guardian to the State Farm exhibit at the Farm Progress Show.  Chapter members 18 and older do not need a parent or guardian signature but will need to sign their own waiver.

State Farm appreciates your partnership and looks forward to seeing you at our exhibit which is located at the corner of Fifth Progress Street and Central Progress Avenue at the Farm Progress Show!
