AGRICULTURAL AWARENESS…Edwards County and Wayne County have recently been awarded agricultural education consortium grants from Partners for Agricultural Literacy. Each county will soon be hiring a parttime coordinator to conduct agricultural awareness activities. If your county is interested in applying for a consortium grant, please let me know. Now is the time to be planning for next year's grant process.

FFA ALUMNI…The following schools have indicated wanting to start or reestablish their FFA Alumni chapter this year: Grayville, Vienna, Thompsonville, Freeburg, Shawnee at Wolf Lake. If others are interested, please let me know. Grants are available in the amount of $75.

"ISTRICT 5 TEACHERS MEETING AN" REPORTERS WORKSHOP…will be held on Monday, September 18th, 6:30 p.m. - start, North Oasis Area and rooms 117-118 of the Vocational Building, Rend Lake College.

ISBE SCHOOL HOUSE MEETINGS…Tuesday, October 17th - Mt. Vernon High School and Monday, October 23rd - Alton High School. I do not know the specific times as yet. Please let me know if you, your students, parents, FFA Alumni, etc. are interested in testifying in support of the agricultural education line item.
