FFA Basketball Tournament - Sat - Rules Changed

Tuesday, February 17, 2015

*Sent to D5, S15, S19, S20 Ag Teachers

Dear District 5, and Section 15, 19, 20 Ag Teachers:
3 more teams needed.  Please reply ASAP.
The Mt. Vernon FFA would like to host an Invitational Basketball Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at 9 am at Mt. Vernon High School’s Changnon Gym. The Section 21 FFA has held a basketball tournament for the past 25 years, however this year we have fewer teams from Section 21.

Our goal is to have eight to twelve teams. Each school can bring more than one team. We will accept the first 12 teams that contact us. The cost for the entry fee will be $10 per school made to the Mt. Vernon FFA Chapter. We will have only FFA members playing and students that played on the high school basketball team can participate if your school's season is over.
The tournament will have a winner’s and loser’s bracket , so each school will be insured to play at least two games. We will have 10 minute games with three games going on at the same time. There will be two minutes between each game. The agriculture teachers will referee the games with the help of a few other adults.

This basketball tournament will begin at 9 am and will be over by 11 am. The students always enjoy the friendly completion with plaques given to four teams. If you are interested in having your FFA chapter participate please contact John T. Kabat at 618-231-5699 or e-mail Mr. Kabat at
[email protected]. You can also contact Cherie Rogier at [email protected].
Thank you,
John T. Kabat and Cherie Rogier
