Illinois Biofuels Workshop at SIUE

Dear Colleagues -(Grades 4-8)  Ag. Teachers can attend or encourage teachers to attend from your school district.

This is a personal invitation to attend an all day,  Illinois Biofuels
Workshop at the National Corn to Ethanol Research Center in Edwardsville,
IL  on  Monday, Nov. 15, sponsored by the Illinois Department of Commerce
and Economic Opportunity through a partnership with the National Energy
Education Development (NEED) Project, the Great Lakes Biomass State and
Regional Partnership, Governor's Ethanol Coalition, Renewable Fuels
Association and the National Biodiesel Board. 

The workshop is FREE and will provide a variety of standards-led resource
material on ethanol, biodiesel and other renewable fuels  for classroom
use.  CPDUs and substitute pay are provided upon request.

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) is partnering with the National Energy Education Development (NEED) to provide a workshop series on renewable fuels. These workshops, along with the new materials produced for them, will help educators:


v     Meet Illinois learning standards   

v     Learn about Illinois biofuels: ethanol and biodiesel

v     Teach about energy transformations

v     Use many hands-on activities


These all-day(8:30 am - 3 pm) workshops are FREE!  Formal and non-formal educators are welcome!




v     Training and standards-led educational materials

v     Hands-on Science of Energy Kits for two weeks free rental during the school year

v     CPDUs, if needed

v     Substitute reimbursement, by request

v     Lunch!
