Ag Teaching Vacancy - Eldorado High School for 2017-18

Description     Eldorado High School, located in Section 25 of Saline County about an hour east of Carbondale, has a full time Agricultural Instructor position available for the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. Mr. Bill Kittinger and Mr. David Jones are retiring at the end of the 2016-2017 school year after a 36 and 23 year career respectively at Eldorado. The program has been exceptionally successful and award winning in state and national activities.

Eldorado has an exceedingly active agriculture program. Currently over 110 9-12 grade students are enrolled in 12 courses. This is a multi-teacher program with several courses offered such as: Horticultural Science, Ag Science, Introduction to the Agriculture Industry, Ag Metal and Fabrication (Welding), Ag Construction and several others. Final curriculum will be set once the vacancy is filled. Facilities include: 2 classrooms, separate office, computer lab, 24x48 greenhouse, 14x60 hydroponic greenhouse, animal science lab and storage buildings. Additional facilities include: welding lab, wood working lab, and an agriculture mechanics lab. A very supportive administration and very active FFA Alumni group works closely with the program.

The ideal candidate is one that will work in a multi-teacher program with Ms. Erica James, a five year teacher at Eldorado. The candidate will be a co-teacher and co-FFA advisor. The candidate will also be working with the FFA Alumni. The expectations of the candidate will be to maintain the Eldorado FFA high level of success. In addition, the candidate is required to continue to participate in section, district, state and national career development events.

Salary BS & 0 years - $34,318.68 including the District Paid TRS. Board paid single insurance up to $628. FFA stipend is $2,342. Website -
