Online Ag Courses Offered by Colleges for High School Students

Friday, June 09, 2017

*Sent to College Ag Instructors

The Illinois Leadership Council for Agricultural Education met in March and discussed the idea to develop a list of colleges interested in offering their online ag courses to high school students that cannot take a high school ag courses due to scheduling conflicts or are not offered at their school.  View meeting mintues.

Brian Clement at DuPage College has taken the lead to develop a promo flyer(attached) of two online ag courses that they would like to begin marketing to high school students across the state.   Doug Hanson, ILCAE Chair, would like to discuss this topic at the June 19 ILCAE meeting and with ag teachers at their IAVAT conference on June 20th.

ILCAE would like to give every college the opportunity to develop a flyer(could just be a 1 page word or pdf document) where similar information is stated:   course title, description, cost, how to enroll, etc.    If you would like to take advantage of debuting your fall ag online courses at the June ILCAE meeting and at the IAVAT conference, please send me your promo flyer by the end of the day on Friday, June 16th.   If you feel that that you cannot meet the deadline of June 16th, please reply and let me know if your college would have online ag courses ready for high school students to enroll in for fall.  A promo flyer can be sent anytime later this summer though sooner the better.  ILCAE's goal is to have a dedicated space for college online ag course offerings on the website where up-to-date information can be shared.

Thank you.  Looking forward to talking to you at the Career Show at FFA Convention next week.
