2017 Invitational Agriculture Education CDE FAQ’s

Are other audience members allowed in the presentation? For the first year we are not allowing other audience members in the room.  The biggest concern is having too many people in the room, which may make it distracting for the teacher, class or judges.  We will be videoing your lesson and will provide a copy of the video to your teacher after the competition.  Please make sure that you bring your signed waiver to the competition.

Can the participant have assistance setting up during the 5 minute designated time?  Yes, we will allow the participant have one person assist them in setting up if it is necessary.

Do I have to follow my lesson plan exactly?  Specifically I would like to adjust the amount of time I spend on specific parts, since I only have 10 minutes do demonstrate.  Deductions wouldn’t be taken off for adjustments on time, as long as the content is followed.

Will we need to provide our own laptop, projector, or internet connection?  No, we will have all of that provided.

Will Google slides, Powerpoint, Prezi be compatible with the system?  Yes, we asked that these be submitted so that we could have them loaded before you arrive.

Will there be a signal for time?  Yes, a sign will be held up at 8 minutes and another at 10 minutes.

Thank you to Megan Coy, District 4 FCAE Program Advisor, for researching, developing resources, and organizing the first ever IL Ag Education CDE.  We hope that more sections and districts begin to provide this CDE opportunity to students in 2017-18 in hopes of increasing the talent pipeline of agriculture education teachers.
