Food Evolution Movie Special Invitation for Section 8 ONLY

Wednesday, September 27, 2017

September 2017

Harvest Greetings!

Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom is proud to partner with high school agriculture teachers and the FFA.  As a SECTION 8 IAVAT teacher, we invite you to  a special screening of a new documentary film, “Food Evolution” on Tuesday, October 3, 7:00 p.m. at the ArcLight Cinemas, 1500 N. Clybourn, Chicago. Hosted by Illinois Farm Families, Illinois Science Council and the Chicago section of Institute of Food Technologists, a Q & A session with a panel consisting of a farmer, scientist and researcher will follow the movie.

Opening to rave reviews on both coasts, Academy Award® nominated Scott Hamilton Kennedy directs “Food Evolution.” Esteemed scientist, Neil deGrasse Tyson, narrates.

A review from Daniel M. Gold of The New York Times said:

“With a soft tone, respectful to opponents but insistent on the data, “Food Evolution” posits an

inconvenient truth for organic boosters to swallow: In a world desperate for safe, sustainable

food, G.M.O.s may well be a force for good."

Because science is important to us (farmers and teachers), we encourage you to see this movie alone or with a friend.  We will reimburse you for up to 2 tickets.  Reimbursement forms will be distributed at the movie screening.

For tickets, please go to  **No cash sales at the door.

  • Regular tickets are $15, available now through 10/2
  • Day of tickets are $20, available starting at 12:01 a.m. on 10/3

We’ll see you at the movies,

Your Agriculture in the Classroom Staff
