-MFE – Collinsville Update – Nearly 200 legislative letters were written by ag. teachers.  Awesome!  Tour contacts- John Baisch, Baisch and Skinner Wholesale Flower Market, 2721 LaSalle Street, St. Louis, MO  63104, 800-264-4617, , Mike Stegmenn/Leo Gieszelmann, Lange-Stegmann Fertilizer Company, One Angelica Street, St. Louis, MO  63147, 314-236-4118, Sandra Zak, Soulard Market, 730 Carroll Street, St. Louis, MO  63104, 314-622-4180  .  Jim Morrison of the Collinsville High School presented a great workshop on corsage construction.  Allen Ritter and Rebekah Anderson also did well with rafter marking and Ag In The Classroom activities.  We are hoping that you can implement these ideas and activities directly into your classroom. Feel free to contact the tour sites directly for tours with your students/parents/Alumni.

-Ag. Ed Course Enrollment/Data Forms – Please be sure to complete this two page form and return as soon as possible to your FCAE field advisor.  Excel forms were emailed to everyone and distributed at the winter section ag. teacher meetings.

-Advisory Councils/FFA Alumni – During the winter months is a great time to establish an advisory council and/or FFA Alumni.  If you already have an advisory council, now is the time to be scheduling a meeting through early spring.  A very good topic of discussion is to distribute your current incentive funding grant application.  Your council can easily see what is happening which is great marketing.  Your council can also see areas of improvement that they can assist with to enhance your program and increase your funding for next year.  For more information, see the advisory council link in the FCAE Teachers Manual of the teachers’ toolbox of the website or direct link here -   (remember to enter the same username and password of the teacher’s toolbox)

-Mt. Vernon Budget Hearing Meeting – Thank you to the following individuals for giving testimony supporting the agricultural education on Friday:  John Kabat and FFA members, David Scott, FFA members, and FFA Alumni members, CR Sloan, Susan Miller, and Kevin Rhodes.  You represented us well.
