WHAT:  District 5 IAVAT Professional Development - held in conjunction with the SIUC Cooperatives Conference  (Click for the student conference)

WHEN:  Thursday, June 7th - 10:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.    (6 PD Hours)
               Friday, June 8th - 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.    (2 PD Hours)

WHERE:  Agricultural Sciences Building, SIU, Carbondale - Room 209

COST:  No registration fee.  Your travel and hotel if staying overnight are not included. Hotels in the area are:  Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, Giant City Lodge and others.  

WHAT DO YOU GET:  Lunch and dinner on Thursday plus approximately $30 of resources from National FFA, ITCS, other vendors.

GrainBridge: Agribusiness Curriculum & Technology for the Ag Classroom    Presenter: Britany Seda, GrainBridge
GrainBridge provides risk-management curriculum and a web-based application to help teach agribusiness concepts such as budgeting, break-even analysis, and commodities marketing. This program allows students to simulate and manage a production enterprise to truly experience risk-management in agriculture. This session will introduce educators to the GrainBridge program, allow time to explore the technology, and will discuss strategies for implementing into the classroom.   Click for more information.
