Position   Agriculture Teacher/FFA Advisor
Description   Webber Township in Bluford is located in Section 21 just east of Mt. Vernon in Jefferson County. The high school has 200+ students with approximately 90 students taking ag. courses. Course offerings include: Introduction to the Agricultural Industry, Ag. Science, Agricultural Mechanics, Agribusiness Management, and Horticulture Science. The administration, community, and FFA Alumni are very supportive of the program. Salary: BS-0 years = $23,263 MS-0 years = $24,778, an extended contract is negotiable. TRS is paid on top of the salary and health insurance is partially paid at $330/month. Applications will be taken until a qualified candidate is found, knowing the sooner the better. Agriculture Day - March 20th is soon to be here - Check out the website to plan for the day and week -  

AgriTourism is Getting To Be Big Business - The Agriculture and Tourism Partners of Illinois have agritourism workshops across the state in March and April.  Here is a way for your FFA chapter or county Ag. Awareness Program to get more involved with community activities.  Workshop topics will range from business planning, customer service, website design, and panel discussions.  District 5 workshops - March 3rd - 1:30 p.m. Convention Visitors Bureau, Mt. Vernon, and March 10th - 8:30 a.m., Regions Bank, Fairview Heights, and 6:30 p.m., Extension office, Vienna.  To register, contact - 618-998-9397.  Other statewide workshops were listed in last week's FARMWEEK.
