Wednesday, March 20, 2019

I am sharing this on behalf of the Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Services.  Please consider nominating a teachers (or self nominating!) and pass the information about scholarships onto a deserving student!

Conservation Teacher of the Year Award

The Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Districts (AISWCD) is currently accepting nomination applications for its Conservation Teacher of the Year Award. The Association proudly recognizes one conservation teacher each year for his or her outstanding conservation education efforts. The goal is to honor Illinois educators whose passion for conservation is matched only by their commitment to their students and community. George McKibben Memorial Scholarship Award

The Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Districts (AISWCD) is currently accepting applications for the George McKibben Memorial Scholarship Award. The annual scholarship award is made each year in honor of the legacy of George McKibben, an agronomist for the University of Illinois who was an early champion for the practice of no-till and its resulting environmental benefits before it became more widely known. The scholarship is available to high school seniors and or undergraduate students pursuing agricultural degree programs who exhibit a demonstrable level of leadership, academic achievement, and commitment to soil and water conservation.
